Custom mural with anewall decor

Ordering one custom sized panel of a wall mural from anewall decor was the perfect solution for covering up the builder grade cabinet that faced my living room.

I'd long been inspired by this image from the Italian design duo Studiopepe via The Design Chaser blog. I love the traditional mural with the modern fixtures and pops of black.  You can see the empty room here and that the color of the cabinets is very orangey.

I'm so happy to live in a space with an open concept and I'm glad the cabinet extends rather than just seeing the side of the fridge. However, I did see this as an opportunity to do something interesting.  I thought we would put the bar cart here as well, but as you can see it's a little busy and crowded.

Anewall decor is a company based in Vancouver, BC made up of two sisters, Sydney and Richele who design and print wallpapers, murals and art prints. I had been seeing their designs for years, mostly on Pinterest. It was on Etsy that I first contacted Sydney about purchasing just one panel of the Harvester's Wall Mural.

If I wasn't a renter I would definitely fill a whole wall with one of their murals. I was considering a temporary application and I did a bunch of research on that, but in the end I used traditional wallpaper glue to adhere it. I did a test about 5 minutes before I put it up the panel and I found out after the panel was installed that the test came off clean and easy, which is good news for everyone. Technically the cabinet should have been primed since it has a glossy surface, but I'm thinking without it, it will come off easier when it's time to move. Fingers crossed! Here are some of my other favorite designs from Anewall.
